The Suez Canal is being deepened to admit 28,000-ton liners, drawing 33ft. COLOURED LABOUR. Sir William Lever, presiding at a meeting of Messrs Lever Brothers, referring to the shortago of labour in tho Solomon Islands, said he did not see the slightest objection to importing labour from tho congested parts of India. A VICTIM TO X-RAYS. NEW YORK, March 5. The death is announced of Henry Green, the pioneer manufacturer <f N-ray tubes. Death was duo to carcinoma of the liver, induced by X-ray poison. Mr Green, developed the first focussing tubes successfully operated with, and later he began their manufacture on a commercial basis.
