DOMINION FORECAST. Dominion Meteorologist’s summary and fcTcqort:—A squall area paezed through Cook Strait last night, and was followed by strong southerly winds and cold end showery weather generally. The barometer has risen considerably in the south and the weather has somewhat improved. Present indications are for moderate to strong south to south-easterly winds, with cold and changeable wc-ather, showery for a time on the east roast, but probably improving shortly, tho barometer rising everywhere, FORECAST FOR CANTERBURY. ’ Moderate to strong south and south-east wirds 'prevailing, changing easterly later.
