A school- teacher was giving a lesson in mental arithmetic to a class of young boys. So she asked this question : “ If a man’s wages be 3s a day, how much does he get at the end of a week?” Several answers were given, but the nearest was from a pupil who said Seventeen and eightpence.” So she asked him to thiivk again, but she got the same reply. “No, Tommy,' she said, “ the correct answer is 18s;” “Please, teacher,” said Tommy, “.what about his Id insurance?”-
