GLOBE PICTURES. The appreciative •- x-eceptions which characterised the current programme at the Globe l Pictures on Monday and Tuesday were repeated yesterday. -In the new programme to bo shown today the chief , film will be “The Actress,” “The Doctor’s Blind Child,” “In Their Hour of Need,” “ English Gazette,” “Brushmaking,'’ “Let ’em Quarrel” and “The New Neighbour.” FULLER’S PICTURES. Enthusiasm was the characteristic of the reception accorded the current programme at the Colosseum last evening, and the same films will be shown tonight. QUEEN’S THEATRE. The excellent programme introduced at the Queen’s Theatre on Tuesday was successful again yesterday and at all the sessions it was well received. The same films will be shown to-day. HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. Headed by “ Silver Blaze,” the current programme at His Majesty’s Theatre was well received last night. It will be repeated this evening. GRAND THEATRE. Shown for the last time, the pictures at the Grand Theatre were successful again yesterday. Among the new films to-rnight will be “ Detective Kelly,”, “Broncho Bill’s Strategy,'; “Eclair Journal,” “ When Pimple was Young,” “His Twin Brother” and “Tweedledum Looking for a Job.” OPERA HOUSE. Howard’s bears and dogs again drew a largo and enthusiastic audience at the Opera House last night and were accorded a splendid reception. The other members of, the company were also successful ,in jtjieii; items. To* night the programme will be repeated and on Saturday a children’s matinee will be given. The first Leonard Nelson Competition will , take place on Thursday, March 12. SYDENHAM PICTURES. There was a large attendance at the final screening of “Silver Blaze ” and other pictures at the Sydenham Theatre last night. There will be a complete change of, pictures’ this evening, the star film being “The Bridge of Terror,” a sensational drama. The supporting numbers are the latest “ Gaumont Graphic,” with' news in picture from many countries; “The Scapegrace” (drama), “ Antigionio Valley ” (scenic), “ Nora’s Boarders ” (comedy), “ The Feudists” (comedy), featuring the three popular Vitagraph players, Lilliaii Walker, John Bunny and Fiord, Finch. SCOTLAND IN THE AIR. On Saturday the Christchurch public will have the opportunity of witnessing an experienced airman manoeuvring a modern flying machine. So far as New Zealand is concerned, successful aeroplane flights have been confined to a few towns. The exhibition will take place at 3.30 on'Saturday at the Show Grounds, when Mr L. W. H. Scot'and (a son of the late Hon H. Scotland, M'.L.C.) will make a flight on his Caudron biplane, on which recently in Southland a series of most successful aerial evolutions' were made. The aviator, his staff of mechanics and the machine will arrive shortly and all preliminary arrangements have been completed. Mr,Scotland has achieved considerable success both in England 'and America, and has already done good work in different parts of the dominion. He has attained an elevation of over 1500 ft at Otaki, and a speed of fifty to, sixty miles an hour. Mr Scotland will probably fly from Timaru to Christchurch to-morrow.
