BOARD OF GOVERNORS
The Canterbury College Board of Governors met yesterday; present—Mr J. C. Adams (in the chair), Bishnp Grimes, Dean Harper, the Hon G. J. Smith, M.L.C., Dr Lester, and. Messrs H. D. Acland, T. W. Adams, W. Brock, M. Dalziel. T. H. Davpy, M.P., T. Hughes, W. Izard. W. H. Montgomery, C. H. Opie, G. Rennie, G. T. Weston and L. B. Wood. Mr Smith took his seat on the. Board and was appointed to the position on committees vacant through the death of the late Mr J. L. Scott. ... The following lecturers and assistant lecturers were re-appointed: Law-, Mr T. A. Murphy; accounting, Mr ,J. Morrison; music, Dr J- C. Bradshaw; education, Mr T. S. Foster; assistant law lecturer. Mr T. W. Rowe: assistant to professors of classics and English, Mr T. W. Cane; assistant to professor of economics, Mr A. M. Shnmpton. Mr J. E. Purchase was appointed part time assistant in economics, and Mr C. E. Foweraker permanent assistant in the biological laboratory. Tho following were awarded entrance scholarships at the Girls’ High School —Julia Tics, Mav Hampton and Prinda Hodges (East Christchurch School), and Doris Oldridge (North Linwood School). ... It was decided to advertise in Australasia and bevnnd for a curator for the museum to. fill the vacancy caused hv the resignation of Mr E. R. Waite. The salary to be offered was fixed at £SOO per annum.. ’
