THE WAR BOGEY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —“ Voluntary Training ” says in effect that wo have not got a possiblo chance against an invader and yet he is advocating a system of voluntary training to- moot the enemy whom wo have not got the remotest chance against. That is a strange idea of things, truly. He says h© is not frightened of tho black or yclliew bogey. It seems to
mo that ho is more than frightened; in fact, not only frightened but comr pletel.v licked already- I emphatically say, after years of thought on the- matter, no need not hoist the wh.*<j flag as soon as tho enemy crosses the horizon. As regards'his'remarks about wasting thousands of lives in defejico of this country, w© will not, I hope, w.asto them lying down t-o an enemy.— I am, etc., *A. PICARD.
