A lecture on " The Royal Navy " will *? given under the auspices of the! Navv League at the Presbyterian Hall, Hardy Street, Now Brighton, to-night, at (eight o'clock. A public meeting will be held jn the Druids' Hall. Woolston, by the Social Democratic Party to-night, at eight o'clock, when Alessrs D. G. Sullivan and J. A. Al'Cullough will deliver addresses on the aims nnd objects of the partv. Air H. Hunter will preside. ' . TTio Rev J. J. North will give an illustrated lecture in Wesley.. Church, East Belt, to-night, at half-past seven, on "The British in India, from Queen Bess to the Delhi Durbar." Tho annual horse parade of the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association will bo held at Rangiora today.

The annual meeting of the Society, for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will be held at the Y.AI.C.A. rooms to-night, at half-past seven. A jumble sale will be held in St Luke's Schoolroom on Thursday, at 2.30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
