The monthly meeting of the com- j mittco of the Linwood Public Library j was" held on August 19. Mr F. A. Drayton, the honorary secretary, on account of his removal from the district, tendered his resignation which was accepted with regret, and a vote of thanks was passed to him for the great! amount of work he had done for the library. Mr William Midgley was appointed honorary secretary for the remainder of the year.
