MURDER AND ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. PERTH, August 25. A tragedy is reported from Claremont. Walter Surradgo attacked his wife when sitting on a seat in the park and cut her throat. A passer-by intervened, and after a great struggle dragged off Surradge, who cut his own throat. His wife is dead, but Surradge will probably recover. He deserted his wife last year and the wife obtained a maintenance order. Reconciliation followed, but the pair frequently quarrelled. THE GOLDSTEIN"CASE. (Received August 25, 9.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 25. At the inquest regarding the death of the Goldsteins, father and son, tho verdict of the jury was that the father murdered the son and then committed suicide. Evidence was given that the father opposed his eon marrying a certain girl and threatened to blow out the son's brains if he did so. He was informed anonymously shortly before the tragedy that the son was married. The son's wife gave evidence that she was married in May to Goldstein junr, but they, had not started housekeeping.
