CANTERBURY ROWING ASSOCIATION.
The executive of the Canterbury Rowing Association met at the Canterbury Rowing Club’s boathouse last evening; present—-Messrs F. D. Kesteven (chairman), R. Nightingale, H. H. Smith, T. Chambers, C. Goodwin, H. Tapling, J. H. Keetley, L. Canpv bell, W. Duggan, F. Dunsford and M. S. Gentles.
The special business of the meeting was the ' adoption of the rules of the Association as recently revised. It was decided to delete a clause setting forth as one of the objects of the Association “to promote and assist in the promotion and control of all rowing races,” the same object being covered by other clauses. _* It was decided to make permissive, instead of mandatory, the suspension of a club whose- Association subscription should be unpaid on October 31. It was decided that the names of umpires and -judges _ appointed for a regatta must be submitted to the executive for approval seven days prior to the date of suqli regatta. A provision that no more than one representative of any one club should officiate in any one official position at a r.egatta was do leted.
A clause giving the executive power to appoint a representative on the committee of each regatta was altered tx give the executive power to appoint s representative to attend each regatta. A rule was added giving the executivi power to deal with and give a final decision upon all matters not provided for in the rules. The rules as amend ed were adopted.
