SUPREME COURT.
[Per Press Association.] WANGANUI, Juno 2. The Wanganui sittings of the Supreme Court opened to-day, beforo Mr Justice Chapman. There were only two criminal cases. The first was against a woman named Mary Harding of alleged breaking and entering the residence of Mrs Brettargh and stealing plate •to tho • value of £5. Accused was found "Not guilty." J. S. Robinson, charged with tho theft of £ll 4s from tho Rutland Hotel, also was acquitted. WELLINGTON, June 2.
In the Supreme Court, divorce division, decrees nisi were granted in the cases of Sarah Maria White v. John White (desertion), John Edmund Turner v. Blanche Turner and William Dixon (adultery). INVERCARGILL, June 2. Frank James M'Farlane was charged at the Supreme Court to-day with assault with intent. Tho jury, after a retirement of four hours, were unable to agree and a now trial was fixed for Wednesday.
