NORTH OTAGO. [From Ook CoTtTii-sreNDBS'T.] OAMARIJ, April 12. A fair amount of business has been passing in wheat, sales being mostly confined to Velvet, which lias moved upwards.- Early in the week a line of 600 sacks was acquired at 3s 9d net at a country ,station, but subsequently 3s 9}d was given at a country station for a line of 700 sacks, and tho bulk of the business has been done at that figure. For soma lots 3s lOd net w'as given at handy stations, and in one ipstanca 3s 10}d was conceded. RodchafF is offering very sparingly, and small lines have been taken at 3s 7d-to 3s 7*d net at country stations, though one parcel was acqiiired at less money. There is a lot of Tuscan offoring, and this variety has weakened with few tranaactions to record. The prices paid at country stations hare been 3s 6d and 3s 6Jd net. A email lino of Bordier was. taken at 3s 7d net at a country station. Oats luivo been further advanced, with few offei'ing, growers, being, apparently, determined to wait until the influence of damage to crops in Southland is ascertained. A grade Gartons have been sold at 2s 2d and 2s 2.jd net at country stations, most of the business having been done-at ths'higher figure. The sales include one line of COO sacks. Very few B grade Gnrtons are coming forward, and sales effected have been nt 2svld and 2s Hd net at country stations. There has been nothing doing in either barley or ontonshosf chaff. A few odd lota of cocksfoot have been placed at B}d and 3jd. Potatoes are practically at a standstill, and only small lots are soiling to moot present requirements. No' coastwise orders are coming this wav, and merchants are not diseased to do a speculative business. With a view to possible future demands from the north or Australia, the best price now obtainable is £ t 10s not at country stations, and that price is practically merely nominal. LAND SALES.
