LONDON, March 18

A number of workmen wore overcome by ga3 in a sewer at Bayswater. Firemen, with smoke helmets, rescued two of them, end bravely endeavoured to rescue a third, but failed. The rescuers were repeatedly hurried to tho surface unconscious. Two of tho firemen perished.
