WOOL DUTIES. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.

WASHINGTON, March 19.

The Democratic majority in tho House Committee of Ways and Means voted to make raw wool dutiablo at 15 per cent, ad valorem, with substantial reductions on the present rates on woollen manufactures. Tho lines of the previous Wool Bill were followed. Tho committee placed meat on the free list, leaving cattle dutiablo. Tho Democrats in botli Houses agreed to a plan for downward revision of the tariffs. Harmony prevails between tho Senate and the-Lower House, tho Senate agreeing to accept greater reductions than were approved last session. The Wool Bill is likely to bo hotly opposed by the Republicans.
