OXFORD LEASES

TO THE EDITOR. g; r With reference to the Prime Minister’s visit to Oxford and his statement as to the extension of lease of Run 22 2, I would like to point out- that tho lessees waited on the Land Board before Mr Massey came into office, and that body, after an inspection by its ranger and on his report, refused to extend the lease, holding the land for closer settlement. Mr Massey said at his Oxford meeting that ho did not know tho' lessees. You havo Mr Forbes's, M.P., statement of even date flint he and others introduced them'to him last session. I would also like to point out that people holding much smaller areas of land in the same bush than these extensive freehold and leasehold farmers have had their leases determined. —I am, etc., COCKATOO. March IS, 1913.
