MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
THE LABOUR PLATFORM. Mr Millar presided at a combined meeting of the Labour Representation and Unity Committees in the Trades Hall last night, to consider, a platform for City Council candidates, and-;, the following was'adopted:—- ;•' Lake Coleridge scheme for supplying electrical energy for lighting ana power, adopted by the ratepayers, to be given fullest effect to by provision ; of all electrical fittings and appliances in connection with ! installations by the City Council for purchase by •■consumers at the lowest possible' cost ;' adoption of the,' late Mr T. E." Taylor's road eoheme; opening of municipal quarry immediately;'securing of a.site for' a town hall; all works, where practicable, to bo carried out by day labour, wages for labourers to be not less than Is 3d per hour; provision of municipal markets and cool storage in the city; unification of all civic bodies, and definition of metropolitan area. It was decided that another, combined meeting should be held at the Trades Hall next Tuesday, at 7;8i9 p.m. Provision was made for aft ';aotive street campaign for the enrolment of electors. m ".'."
