RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. Tuesday. A perfect morning saw a fair sprinkling of track watchers present to witness proceedings which were of a most interesting character Despite the fact that the outside of tho trial grass gallop was open, practically all the trainers preferred the ploughed gallop, which was in capital order. Before it was properly light R. Derrett dispatched Martius for a circuit at half-speed. Nightwatch (Emerson) and Autumnua (M'Cluskey) wero companions in a gallop over sis iurlongs, run in ilmin 16 1-58 CC The two.year old who finished up his task really well, dewsivoly defeated Autumnus, effort was disappointing. Northern Light spurted half a milo in 30 4-ss?c. Glenfinnan (Emerson) def ated Masterpiece (Deoley) over a mile in lmin 45sec. Blown Owl and Heatherbrae separately put in a circuit at three-quarter speed. Mumura (Gibbons) finished several lengths in front of Troon (Bush) at tho end of a mile, run in lmin 47 l-6sec, but tho latter again broko a blood vessel, which was responsible for her poor showing. Peg (Anderson), assisted by Ngntapu over the last half-milo, dashed over six furlongs in lmin 16 2-ssec, finishing well, and her efforts wore quite satisfactory. Ladronc ran six furlongs in lmin JBsec. Glencdnnich defeated Scottish Star over five furlongs, run in lmin i l-ssec. Mowbray (Anderson) registered a nice performance by reeling off five furlongs in lmin 2 4-ssec. but he probably had nothing in reerve at the finish. Emperodor (Decley) and Chorubini (Jenkinson) galloped six furlongs. Tho former gave his companion a couplo of lengths break but had him easily beaten at tho finish. Emperador's timo for the journey was lmin 10 2-ssec, and considering tho resolute manner in which he wns running on at the finish it was evident that ho would have registered a brilliant performance had he been extended. Rinaldo's task was a litrht or.o. Briar Patch brushed over half a, milo in 50Jsec. Veritas defeated Joan ovor fivo furlongs, run in lmin 4-ec. Sanguinary and Lady Nclan finished together at the end of a spin over six furlong's, tho last five of which occupied lmin 5 "2-ssec. Bradamanto spurted half a mile in 49 4-ssce. Pilgrim's Way (Woods) dashed- over six furlongs in lmin 16 2-ssec, finie-hinir well. Thcro WM little to chooso between Historiette and Zeus at tho end of half a milo, run in 60rco, and Goldon Mem ran a similar distance in 50i*oc. Banksift brushed over thres furlongs in 38sec, Oxenhopo ran fivo furlongs in lmin 3 l-ssee, going pleasingly. Salzburg (M'Seven v) put m an attractive performance bv defeating Ogier (Andorson) over five furlongs in lmin 2 2-ssoc. Advance Guard was fully extended while running five furlongs in lmin 6 l-ssec.
