COUNTY COUNCILS.

RANGIORA. Theßangiora County Council met on Friday; present: Messrs F. Horrell (chairman). M. H. Stokes, H. Garrett, A. M'lntosh, W. Stalker,-H. Tallott and L. W. Campion. It was arranged to moot the Eyre County Council on Wednesday at Flaxton to discuss tho best means of increasing the waterway at the, Flaxton and Skew bridges. It was decided to make application to the Minister of Internal .Affairs to assign the distinctive letters '' Rga C," and from 1 upwards to be used for the registration of motor-ears in tho county. It was decided to instruct the ranger to lay informations against owners of cattle at large. The chairman reported having confirmed the order for tho traction engine and road roller, but had not done anything with reference to the new buildings, as tho question cf disposing of the present site had been raised. It was left to the chairman and Mr M'lntosh to procure three metal waggons of a suitable pattern. Tho clerk was instructed to

write to the Telegraph Department re« garding telegraph poles,encroaching onl the road below Flaxton. ' ■ The I chairman and Messrs M'lntoah and Stokes were requested to go of disposing of the present office site, and to ma;ke inquiries ■. for;' a more suitable site and report'to a special meeting on " Friday 2 January • 24. ■ The clerk:was.authorised to have/gates erected in ' some of i.the gravel reserves in the Cust riding,' ancF'also' to chiy and roll the recently . shingled portion of the Kaiapoi beach-road.- The receipts for the month were £18.6 17s lid, and accounts for £BB6 0s id;were passed, for payment.
