STEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL TOURNAMENT.

Tlie annual tournament of tho New Zealand Bowiing Association will bo opened in Christchurch on Monday, and will be continued throughout the whole of next week. Tho entries closed on Saturday, and the following are the totals, the figures for the last tournament held in Chriatchurch, in 1911, being shown in parentheses:—Rinks CG (71), doubles 132 (114), singles 160 (160). In spite of the slightly reduced numbers, the entries are thoroughly representative, and oover a much wider range than usual. They include players from all parts of tho South Island, and there is also a strong contingent from tho North Island, among the northern visitors being aomo from Auckland. Last evening a meeting of the Rangiora bowlers was held to select four Bkips of rinks for the competition to decide the club's representative team in the Centre's Champion of Champions rink competition. SOUTH ISLAND TOURING TEAM. [Pin Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 13. The South Island touring bowlers played a nine-rink match against Wellington Club today, and were beaten by 203 to 169. Later they played a niue-rink team representing Wellington Centro, and suffered defeat again by 191 to 160. Tho visitors were entertained at a smoke concert this evening, and will leave to-mor-row for Napier. AORANGI v. WELLINGTON. [Pee Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 13. The Aorangi bowling team played the Wellington representatives this morning, and were beaten in the aggregate by 200 to IC9. In tho afternoon the team will play the representatives of tho city and suburban clubs.
