Tho New Zealand Council could not • account for the hitch that had occur- ' red, but as Captain Horniman, manager of the team, had arrived at Fre- ; mantle they would soon have his re- . port to work upon. Tho hitch was due , to no fault of tho New Zealand Coun- ! oil, though certainly some of tho L trouble was caused through Champion’s ! nomination being late. 1 The Council decided to leave the mat. ter in abeyance till Captain Horniman’s renort is received. Tho New Zealand Rowing Association wrote that as their members were not eligible to compete at the Olympic games they could not see thc-ir way to make a levy for tho Olympic, fund. With reference to the proposal mado by Dr Collins to tho Sports Protection League regarding the British Empire team at tho Olympic games at Berlin
in 1916, the chairman said ho had arranged to -meet ,Dt Collins next week and discuss the matter with him. ~ A motion by Mr Hill that New Zealand should become a separate nation at Olympio games was deferred until after the conference between the chairman and Dr Collins. . ' ,y
