SPRINGFIELD SPORTS.
Monday was observed as a close holiday at Springfield. The weather was fine, and nearly all the residents turned out to a sports gathering on tho Kowai Pass Domain. A canvass o£ tho district had been piado for funds, and there was a large display of toys for competition amongst the children. The following are the results of tho chief events for adults: —50yds Race—E. Tripp 1, AV. Millikeri 2. 100yds Race—'W. Milliken 1, W. Hallaway 2. 220yds Race—J. Colthart 1, IV. Milliken 2. High Jump—E. King. Hop, Step and Jump—J. Colthart 1, E. Odgers 2. Bicycle Race, from Springfield to Annat and back (about six miles and a half) —S. Ckc.v terfield 1, E. Odgers 2.. Time —ISmin.
