YACHTING.

CANTERBURY YACHT CLUB. Tli© annual meeting of tho Canterbury Yacht Club was held at Lyttolton on Friday evening last, the commodore (Mr J. H. Collins) presiding over a largo attendance. The annual report showed the club to bo in a very satisfactory financial condition, as after paying all liabilities there remained a crodit balance of over £4. During the season tho club had held a scries of races and picnics, which proved very successful. Tho following officers were elected: Commodore, Mr Colin Cook; vice-com-modore, Mr J. H. Collins; rear commodore, Captain R. Hatchwell; honorary treasurer, Mr E. R. Yickerman; honorary secretary, Mr W. C. Cleary; committee, Messrs E. R. Curtis, E. Weastall, J. Calsom, J. R. Anderson and A. Beaumont.

Tho opening day was left in tho hands ot tho committee to arrange for, and it was decided to endeavour to arrange a match between the Canterbury and Akaroa Clubs for boats of a restricted class. It was also decided to further the intorests of tho regatta to be held at Port Levy at Easter.
