The schooner Morning Light, which arrived . in the stream on Monday evening, came into : port yesterday morning'. Captain Elvin resported having left Waitapu on Saturday af- -. ternoon last, and, aided by favourable winds, a fast passage waa made. *„■ The brigantine Aratapu has completed loading* for Kaipara. and will sail for th© 'northern port with the first favourable wind.
The ; Canterbury Steamship Company's Breeze is due to-morrow from Timaru, and, 7.after loading a quantity of cargo, will saiJ tho same day for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. The Petane will also sail to-mor-row for Napier and Gisborne. . The water front at present does not preaent a very busy scene,. only three oversea vessels being in port. To-day the Wimbledon will leave for Wellington, in continuation ot discharge of her cargo of case oil. The Ar&wa will depart to-morrow for Port Chalmers, while the departure of tho Ruahine is yet uncertain. . There is not a great quantity of cargo for the last-named vessels. The prospects for next week are considerably brighter.
.Discharging operations by the New Zealand Shipping Company's Bimutaka at Hobart have taken longer than was anticipated, and advice has been received that .her departure for Wellington did not take place until Monday afternoon.
