CITY AND SUBURBAN BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of delegates of the various branches of the City and Suburban Burgesses' Association was held in the Manchester Chambers last night; present—Mr G. E. Franklin (Central) chairman, Messrs E. Peek (Beckeuham), W. H. Denton (Linwood), E. G. M'Nab (St Albans). H. Macintosh (Linwood), A: Nicholls (Spreydon). I<. Woods (Spreydon), J. Frayer (Central), L. Brian (St Albans), J. Forrester (Sydenham), J. Butterfield (Sydenham)/A. Uren (Papanui). H. Harper (Beckenham), H. G. Bailey (Beckenham). The proposal to amalgamate the various Associations in and around the city was adopted on the motion of Mr •)• Forrester, seconded bv Mr F. "Woods. It was derided that the united Association should meet every sis months. Tho election of officers for the United Burcesses' Association resulted as follows:—President. Mr L. Brian; secretary, Mr J. H. Nowlyn : executive committee, Messrs W. H. Denton, J. Forrester. E. G. M'Nab, L. Woods, A. Nicholls, H. Harper and Brett, together with one delegate to be sent from those bodies not represented at the meeting. It was decided that should any member of tho executive committoo be prevented from attending a meeting, a delegate from tho same body might be sent as proxy.
