CONVICTS IN REVOLT.
A TERRORISED TOWN.

VANCOUVER, October 13.
Nineteen convicts revolted at Rawlins Penitentiary, Wyoming, and escaped after a brisk fight with the guards. Nino wero captured. The town is in a state of terror, and the populace are under arms. A noted desperado commands the convicts, who threaten vengeance if attempts are mad© for their recapture.
(Received October 14, 11 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 14. Guards are locked in the Rawlins Penitentiary with the mutinous prisoners, trying to prevent wholesale gaolbreaking. Armed citizens are waiting to attack escaping convicts. It is rumoured that several guards and convicts have been killed. A citizens' posse is fighting the escapees in the hills. Two men were killed and one was badly wounded in the street. Two convicts have been recaptured. Troops are asked for.
