VETERANS' HOME.

A raaeting of the Board of Governors of the Veterans' Home was held to-day, Lord Islington presiding. The annual report lor the year eiukd Juno 30 showed that the capital fund had increased from £9040 to £9-110; the- receipts totalled £237, which is not sufficient to cover expenses. There are forty-two vetorans in the Homo. His Excellency the Governor, the. Hon E. Mitehelson and Colonel Collins were elected president, treasurer and secretary respectively. The Prime Minister and Mr Alfred Kidd, Auckland, were elected to vacancies on the Board.
