[Per Press Association.]' AUCKLAND, June 28. A proposal to establish King's College, at present t,h<* private property of Mr C. T. Major, principal, on a p<>rnvanont basis was completed to-night. The main conditions specified by Mr Major when making his generous offer t» h!ind over tho eclicol gratuitously to the citizens of Auckland wore, that £20,000 should be subscribed, to be spent on buildings, and including *a school chapel, 11 new oito of at least twenty acres to bo secured. A committee of citizens, acting in conjunction with tho Old Boys' Association, has succeeded in complying with the conditions specified, with the result that tho large boarding and day school is retained for .Auckland for all time. Pah College, better known as St John's Collegiate School, is to lx> amalgamated with King's College from December next.
