ST JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.

PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATES. The annual presentation of certificates in connection with, the St Joan Ambulance Association .took place in the Young Men’s Christian Association rooms last night. Lieutenant-Colonel Cresswell presided. ' _ The following telegram from the lion G W. Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, was read: “Exceedingly regret that, at' tho last moment, I find important. business here will prevent my leaving Wellington to-night, consequently I will be unable to attend your function to-inorrow. I cm very sorry in having to disappoint you, tun. it is onlv business of the utmost . importance that lias prevented my coming. I feel sure vou will have no difficulty in obtaining someone to adequately take my place. I wish the Association . every success- in the future.’; Apologies for absence were also received from.
