THE BAGDAD RAILWAY. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, May 3. In the House of Commons, Mr Asquith, in reply to Mr Mason, said that the Government was negotiating with the Porte in respect to British participation in the Bagdad-Basra railway, in return for compensation elsewhere. British capitalists have bought out the other parties interested in that section of the line, subject to conditions regarding German participation.
