FRESH AIR FUND.
The promoters of the Fresh Air Fund have set themselves the task of collecting this year a sufficient sum to provide a day in the country for 300,000 of the poorest children of the great cities of the United Kingdom, and they are asking the readers of the “Lyttelton Times ” to assist them in carrying it to a triumphant conclusion. “It is,” Mr 0. Arthur Pearson writes to the editor of this journal, “ with deep gratitude for the help which has been accorded to the Fresh Air Fund by your readers that in opening our twenty-first yearly campaign, I ask you to allow me again to make an appeal for subscriptions through your columns. From mv experience of what your readers have done in past years I feel confident that I shall not appeal in vain.” Subscriptions of any amount will be received at’23, St Bride Street, London, E.C., and at the head office and the agencies of the “ Lyttelton Times” Company. The whole of the expenses of management are borne by tho promoters, and every ninepence subscribed to the fund will provide a day vs outing with a plentiful supply of food for a child, while ten shillings will pay for its maintenance in a country home or by the seaside for a fortnight. Envelopes containing subscriptions should be endorsed “ Fresh Air Fund.” The following subscriptions have been
