PIGEON SHOOTING.
CHRISTCHURCH GUN CLUB,
At the F.aster meeting of tho Christchurch Gun Club, the " Old Timers’ ” match, ten birds, for a diamond medal presented by Mr G. Rutherford was won by L. A. Shand, who killed all his birds. H. Bennett was Becond with nine kills, and W. Cassin, J. Cameron ancl> E. P. Graham tied for third place with eight kills each. It was found necessary for Mr Rutherford fo alter the conditions of the matoh so as to include recent chooters, and the event was robbed of its interest from an old timer’s point of view. Legislative Handicap ; first miss out—There were eleven nominations. T. Bassett, F. G. Lewton, H. Bennett, J. A. Olonski and J. Gorton missed tlieir first bird and retired. F. G. Frampton nnd L. A. Shnnd missed their second, and C. E. Brown, G. Rutherford and E. P. Graham missed their third. O. Hunter was declared the winner.
Colts’ Handican; first miss out —F. G. Lenton and O. J. Hunter miffed the_ fifth bird and rotired. J. A. Orlonski, T. Bassett and C. E, Brown killed eight each and divided tho stake. Recovery Stakes; first miss out—o. Hunter e,nd E. P. Graham failed to stop the first bird and retired. G. Rutherford missed his second ,ond F. G. Frampton let, his fourth away. C. E. Brown, H. Bennett. F. Lenton nnd J. A. Orlonski killed all their birds nnd divided the slake. In a 10s sweepstake, Brown, Lenton, Frampton, Orlonski, J. Simpson and Graham killed seven each and divided the stake.
In another sweenstake F.- Truscott-, J. A. Orlonski and O. Hunter .killed seven birds oach and again divided the stake.
