CURRENCY REFORM.
TO TIIE EDITOR. Sir, —Mr 'Vorrall seeing surprised that .1 should not abolish gold as a basis of wealth abroad as well as at home. Now my reason for. not attempting to extend the policy beyond the limits of this dominion, is because superstition dies so hard that the difficulties would be insurmountable, and I am thoroughly convinced there never oxisted a greater superstition by any people, in any age or any country, than that now existing in our midst on the gold basis. Moreover, we see Liberals,- Reformers, Socialists and Labourites all straining at a gnat and swallbwing a camel so long as they leave the currency question severely Mr Verrail’s other remarks have been answered in. my previous letters, and I wish to refrain from making repetitions, but I hone, when Mr Vorrall sees tho error of his ways, lie will join with us in making Now Zealand the nucleus of currency reform which will yet absorb tho world.—l am, etc., w. fitzhenry.
