SUMNER PIER.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —If the Sumner people are really desirous of popularising their very pretty resort they should at least pay some attention to the accommodation for motor boats, the pier at present being inadequate. During the past holiday considerable annoyance was experienced by boating people in the fact that the jetty was monopolised by craft plying for hire, and private boats had to stand by until the cargoes were conmleted. It is to be hoped that slumbering Sumner will, during the winter months, make some effort to cater in some way for the boating portion of the public.—l am, etc., “ MERMAID.”
