AMBULANCE BRIGADE.

The following promotions, of officers of the St. John Ambulance Brigade will come into force on February 23: Districb Superintendent Treasurer, Dr J. R. Thomas, to be acting District Chief Surgeon; vice Dr H. Mc. C. Inglis promoted; Chief Superintendent J. P. Hughson, South Canterbury Corps, to be Acting District' 1 Chief Superintendent, vice W. W. M'Kinney promoted; Chief Superintendent W. Pearce, Christchurch Corps, to be. Acting District Superintendent Treasurer, vice Dr J. R. Thomas promoted; Superintendent Treasurer W. L. Esselborn t« be Chief Superintendent Christchurch Corps, vice \V. Pearce promoted. Leave of absence for six months has been granted to D.C.S. Hughson and Dr Teichelmann, Hokitika Division, from February 22. _ The services of the Waimate Nursing Division have been accepted, the division to be attached to the South Canterbury Corps.
