IMPORTANT DECISION IN CANADA. United Presg Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.
VANCOUVER, February 22. At Montreal Mr Justice Cliarbonneau gave an important decision involving the Ne Temere decree in the Quebec province. He decided that the marriage of Mr and Mrs Herbert was valid, maintaining that any officer authorised to solemnise marriage can 'marry any two persons who observe the necessary formalities, no matter what their religion may be. Tho Ne Temero decree, he said, had no effect against the civic code. The Herberts were married by a Methodist minister, and the husband sought to nullify the marriage under the terms of the Ne Temere decrees.
