ssnnnssasnssassßSHi^^ MBS BiP ;im.'.j.v/vn-’-.iv i okseeseef' aw fllfflSlS •I COPY OF LETTER FRO&1 F. HULBERT CHAMBERLAIN (LATE ENQIIUKER TO THE CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD.) Ngakawau, N.Z., October 25th, 1910. The Managkr, s The Farmers Co-op. Association, Christchurch. Dear Sir,—ln accordance with your request, I beg to state that early in the Spuing of 1909 I purchased, after carefully inspecting the'various cars manufactured by the different American firms, a Model 30 4-seater Roadster Overland Motor-car. I may add that during 1909 I shipped same to New Zealand when I left New York in February last, due to the car having given me every satisfaction, both asjregards operating and maintenance costs. On arrival here I found no roadway exists between here and Westport, so sold same to S. SYMINGTON. I consider the Overland Car thoroughly well-built, of good material, and a car which will do all that her manufacturers claim. I may add that during 1909 I used the car to and from office ; on Saturday afternoons and Sundays for long trips ; and during a two-weeks’ vacation ran 95 to 115 miles per day through the Burkshire Hills and Adirondacks Mountains of New York State, through into Vermont (all hilly country), the greater part of the trip being made over ordinary country mountain roads. I ran the car nearly 2,000 miles on this vacation trip alone, and up to the time I sold had not paid one penny for repairs. I believe the Overland Engine the equal.of many of the higher-priced car-engines, both as to “ get their quality ” and quiet running, while the big horse-power and light weight of car makes its tyre-maintenance exceedingly light. —Yours faithfully, (Signed) F. liULBERT CHAMBERLAIN. COPY GF LETTER FROM SCOTT SYMINGTON. (Engineer to the Invercargill Tramway Ca.; also lato Engineer to tho Christchurch Tramway Co.) Invercargill, Sept. 4, 1911. The Manager, N.Z. Farmers Co-op. Assn. Ltd. Christchurch. Dear Sir, The Overland Car I have at present has now been running for three Seasons, and is as goed as ever. Apart from tyre troubles I have had no Stops on the road yet, and the car has not cost sixpence for repairs. All my friends are pleased with its smooth running qualities, and I myself tm more than satisfied. Unless one wishes to go in for a very high-priced car, the Overland is just about as good as anyone would want. Yours faithfully, (Signed) S. SYMINGTON. COPY OF LETTER FROM Dr. D. J. DRAKE, LEESTON. Sept. Ist, 1911. The Manager, N.Z. Farmers Co-op. Assn. Ltd* Christchurch. Dear Sir, ..•> '. si ' w The Model 46 Overland purchased by me some five months ago has been running splendidly, and I am perfectly satisfied with it. The engine is silent, flexible, and never overheats. The body is well sprung, and the whole car seems well put together, and has'every appearance of lasting to a good old age. I should like to thank you for the invariable courtesy I have always experienced from your firm. Yours faithfully, (Signed) Dr. D. J. DRAKE, Leeston.
