BAND OF HOPE CONTESTS.
♦- Tho contests in connection with the Canterbury Band of Hope Union wero continued last evening in the Choral Hall.. Mr J- M’Cullougk was in tho chair and the hall was well filled. Tho contests taken consisted of pianoforte solos (B), vocal quartettes (D), impromptu speeches and tableaux. Very attractive >items in the scarf drills were given by the juveniles. To-night the programme will consist of pianoforte duets, vocal and violin solos, recitation, action songs and a dialogue by the Selwyn Street Band of Hope. The president announced tho following as the results of the previous night’s competitions
