Mr. Paulin’s forecast:—Strong south-west to north-west winds. Cold rain showers. Dominion Meteorologist’s summary and forecast: —Westerly winds changed to southerly generally diiring Wednesday night, and the barometer roso in the Bouth. A southwesterly gale and hail showers were experienced in Foveaux Strait. Showers fell on the "West Coast and in the northernmost districts, and changeable weather has been reported generally” Present indications are for a falling barometer in' the north, with high easterly and south-easterly winds, rain and squally weather. The barometer has a rising tendency in tho south, and strong south-easterly winds and cold and showery weather are probable, with snow on the higher levels.
