Mr Paulin's prediction, telegraphed last evening:—Strong north-east to north-north-west winds. Rain after twenty-four hours. The, disturbance to the south is working slowly in a north-easterly direction. Government Meteorologist's weather sammar3 r and forecast:—Warm and hazy weather has prevailed with moderate to strong! northerly winds. The barometor has fallen everywhere, but very slowly. A storm area appears to bo developing on the ocean between -i.ustralia and New Zealand. Present indications are for a falling- barometer everywhere, warm and hazy weather with increasing cloudiness preceding rain in all parts of the country. Strong northerly winds are probable generally. Mr Gideon Henderson, of Port Levy, forwarded the following weather forecast last evening:—North-west to strong south-west winds and rain in most parts of tho Soutli Island, and heavy in patches, after about twenty-four hours. Sea pasea?e3 will be rough around the ooast of New Zealand ■for a few days.
