BUFFALO BILL’S WILD WEST. The Theatre Royal was well patronised again on Saturday evening, when Messrs MacMalion Brothers repeated their entertaining picture programme of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. The pictures met with a hearty reception, and will be presented for the last time ■this evening. To-morrow evening the company will produce for the first time in Christchurch a pictorial presentation of “ The Squatter s Daughter,” which gained a great reception as a drama. The picture is a “ homemade ” production. It is described as ; being an exceptionally clear and connected series. Messrs Bert Bailey and •Edmund Duggan personally supervised ( the making of the film of their drama and the smallest details have been included. The piece, with its exciting Beenes and outdoor atmosphere, lends itself admirably to reproduction by the biograph, and the picture has won much praise in other centres. The plot is lucidly worked out, and the ; whole story is described by Mr R. Trafjford in a dramatic manner. Interest [in the story is thus never allowed to ptvane. and the picture never flags. An entirely new series of novelties will be shown in conjunction with the big film. ! _OPERA~HbuSE. 1 The popularity of the present programme at the Opera House induced a forge number of people to go to the Vaudeville playhouse on Saturday, and )the items given were well received. WEST-HAYWARD PICTURES. \ There were large attendances at both Exhibitions of the West-Hayward Pictures on Saturday, and at both the films were well received. . To-night the change of programme will be made, and ampng the now films will bo: “—“Above the Clouds,’’ a series taken [(from the summit of a mountain, and giving some remarkable cloud studies, f ‘ Naval Manoeuvres,” showing some fjieavy guns in action; ‘ Nemours and Ith® River Loing ”; “ Auld Robin (Gray,” with vocal accompaniment; ("‘Jane and the Stranger,” and “The Charm,” two dramatic ;studies; instalments of the Pathe Gavotte and Gaumpnt Graphic, and a budiget’of comic films. | FUELER’S PICTURES. ~! Large numbers attended the aftorlioon and evening exhibitions of Filler’s Pictures at the Colosseum on /Saturday, and the films on each occajeion were well received. To-night the »ame pictures will be shown. i SYDENHAM PICTURES. There were crowded houses at the •Sydenham Empire on Saturday at the 'afternoon and evening performances. (A new programme was put on, and it ’included some first-class numbers. 'Some of tbo dramatics were exceptionally fine, especially “Pamona,” an •Indian story, which was very popular. '(Another picture of interest was “ Con.▼ict 796,” during the showing of which the hymn “ Lead. Kindly Light ” was •ung by Miss E. Ibbotson. There were 'veveral interesting scenic subjects, and the comic pictures provoked plenty of laughter. The same series of pictures ’will be shown to-night.

. M. OSSIPOFF’S RECITALS. In response to numerous requests M. JEugene Ossipoff, the Russian baritone, will give another recital in the Choral Hall on Friday evening. The Misses Cliristabel and Alma Wells will assist liim, and will play a number of popular classical selections. M. Ossipoff will sing new numbers and several old favourites, including, by special reSuest, the “Toreador’s Song” from 'Carmen” and “Will o’ the Wisp.” The box plan is at Messrs Milner and Thompson’s, and tickets may' be obtained from the ladies’ committee.
