THE CITY ORGAN.

WAGNER RECITAL BY DR J. 0. BRADSHAW. The recital given on the city organ at his Majesty’s Theatre by Dr Bradshaw on Saturday was well attended, and the second series of excerpts from the works of Wagner which comprised the programme was very appreciatively received. The various numbers were played in a scholarly and informative manner, and the organist had to respond to recalls for some of his items. The programme opened with the “ Friedensmarsch ” from “ Rienzi, and concluded with the “ Grosser Kriegsmarsch ” from the same opera. Included in the programme were the slumber song (“ Ders, mon enfant") and “ Traume ” from the “ Five Poems.” The examples from Wagner’s later operatic works were the Vorspiel to “ Parsival,” the “ Ride of the Valkyries” from “Die Walkure” and the prelude to “ Tristan und Isolde." Next Saturday a Schubert-Sullivan recital will be given.
