Humidity per cent:—B2. Maximum temperature in sun during day—--138. Wind—E.N.E., moderate. Cloud (0-10)—9. WEATHER FORECASTS. Mr Paulin's forecast is as follows:— Strong north-west to south-west winds; fine for twenty-four hours. Rev D. C. Bates's summary and forecast: Tho weather has beon hazy, warm and humid generally, but rain has fallen in the southernmost districts. Squally westerly winds were experienced during tho night in Foveaux Strait and parts of Cook Strait, but the wind has been most variable and the barometer has made little movement. Present indications are for warm and humid conditions generally, with passing clouds and showers in parts. The winds will probably be variable in most parts of the country, moderate to strong easterlies predominating in the north and westerlies in and southward of Cook Strait. The barometer has a falling l tendancy in tho far north, but will probably rise shortly in the south. Mr Gideon Henderson, of Port Lovy, forwarded tho following weather forecast last evening:—Strong south-west winds, with rain, in most parts of the South Island, especially to the south of Culverden, within twenty-four hours. Mr F. L. Wooles's forecast for Canterbury for twenty-ionr hours:—Moderate to strong variable winds, easterly prevailing. Cloudy to clear. Threatening at times; somewhat sultry. Barometer little movement.
