Bates’s summary and forecast: —Strong northerly winds have prevailed, and gales in parts southward of Cook Straits. Tile weather has been very warm, hazy and showery generally. The barometer has fallen low in the extreme south. Present indications are for high northerly winds, veering to westerly. The weather will probably bo stormy southward of Kawhia and Castle Point, especially in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Rain is probablo generally, and rivers flooded on the AA’est Coast The barometer will probably fall cveryvdiere, but rise soon temporarily in the extreme south. MR PAULIN'S FORECAST Mr Paulin’s forecast, telegraphed yesterday, is as follows:—-Weather very electrical; thunderstorms are to bo expected, especially over Central Otago.
