WAGES TROUBLE AT BULLFINCH
EXPERT REPORT ON CHAFFINCH
A POOR RETURN. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. PERTH, December 13,
The Bullfinch miners are striking for higher pay. Mr Doolette states that he is determined not to grant the increase. During November the Bullfinch mine treated 1*99 tons for 5480 z, valued at £2120.
Reporting for the owners of tho Chaffinch, Mr Grut, an export, states that the highest assay was under two pennyweights to the ton. This sample was obtained within eighteen inches of the spot where Mr Arthur obtained 20oz samples. There is but little known of the geological features of tho field, but no promising lode has been found. The recent rise in shares is absolutely unwarrantable. The Minister of Mines has ordered an inquiry, and a detective has left for uie field.
A Norwegian was arrested at Bullfinch for firing a revolver in the air. He had to be chained to a log, as there is no lock-up.
