C. Bates's summary and forecast: The winds changed to southerly last night in most parts of the country. Thunderstorms were reported on the east coasts of both islands and rain has fallen in many parts. The barometer rose everywhere during the night. Present indications arc for a falling barometer everywhere shortly nnd probably low generally. Cloudy and hazy weather will probably increase and unsettled weather prevail again shortly. Winds will probably decrease from the southward end northerlies prevail and increase by to-morrow evening. MR PAULIN'S FORECAST. Mr Paulin's prediction, telegraphed yesterday afternoon, is as follows: Stormy south-east to north-east winds and electrical rain showers. MAIL NOTICES.
