BREAD AT NEW BRIGHTON.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —We hear and read a lot nowadays about trusts, but it seems to me that we have one flourishing in New Brighton in the bread business, for we have to pay sevenpence for a large loaf, and all the bakers who serve the residents down hero seem to have put their heads together to keep up the price, and still the very same men can cart the bread all the way to Christchurch and sell at sixpence; in fact, we pay sevenpence over the counter at the stores in the township, and if we take the trouble to call at a store on our way from town we can buy the very same bread at sixpence. This kind of thing does not attract visitors to New Brighton, as living gets to bo very expensive for families by the time they pay tram fares.—l am, etc.,
