A THIRSTY STREET.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir Will vou kindly allow me space in vo’ur paper to ask, as a resident .or Rugby street Why we are not alio ed tho sight of the water-cart? it. alwavs comes down as fai as Chester'Street and up Menvale Lan . I believe we all have to pay the sail

rates. Why then do we not all share alike? Since tho street has been cut up the dust is simply unbearable, and water used once a day would help to settle it. A year or two ago the cart used to come down the length of Rugby Street, but that is stopped now. We all have to eat a certain amount of dust, but I draw the lino at swallowing it by tho bagful.—l am. etc., FAIR PLAY.
