BECKENHAM PARK.

TO TEE EDITOR.

Sir, —Some time ago the ratepayers of Beckenham and Fisherton acquired a piece of ground known now as the Beckenham Park. I find the rates this year to be on unimproved value £BO, Is 9d. The City Council was good enough to give £250, providing nothing should be asked for or done for live years. I see now the Park is a happy, hunting ground for horses. It was never intended that this piece of ground should be turned to such a use. There are some four hundred children in the locality, and why should they not have the use of this place to play in without being afraid of being kicked to death, and their parents being in hourly terror in caso they should stray on to their own property.—l am, etc.,

SILAS M’ALISTER.
