To an interviewer Pingott denied tlio statement that ho had admitted that kis score at 1000yds was a bogus one. DOMINION. RIFLE ASSOCIATION. [Pkk Prkss Association.] WELLINGTON, October • 31. The programme for the next “ B'lsley,” a-s drawn up by Colonel Collins, executive officer of tho Dominion Rifle Association, and approved of by tho Council, was issued to-day. The meeting will commence on Friday, March 3. Entries will close on Saturday, February 11. The sum of £IOOO has been allocated as prizes. Tho opening match will he at 200, 500 and 000 yards, open to all competitors, there being no distinction between Territorials and ride club men.

The championship series will consist of eight matches instead of six, two of tho double-distances matches having been converted into four single range matches. The prizes in this series have been increased, to £1223.

The Grand Aggregate Match has a prize list of £222. There aro also two other aggregates, to which £SO each has been allotted, thirty prizes in each, the Trentham Aggregate being for all scores made at 500 and GOO yards, and the Bislo.v Aggregate for all scores made at 800, 900 and 1000 yards.

In the championship series, figure targets are to bo introduced in place of bull’s-eye targets. At 500 and GOO yards they will bo of tlio same dimensions and have tho same divisions as tho ordinary second-class target, and will be coloured in tlio upper half light grey and in the lower half green, having centrally a “ head and shoulder ” figure coloured khaki, 18 inches by 21 inches. Tho prize-list in the Sendee Match series is £3BO, tho same as last year, bat a reduction of 6s has been mado in tho entrance fees. Matches for which ■ls were heretofore charged are now fixed at 2s 6d each.

Tlio prizes for Teams Matches include many valuable trophies and £134 in cash prizes. Tho number of men to form a team is The matches consist of sectional firing (falling targets), cover firing, field firing competition and surprise target match. A silver cup of the value of 60 guineas has been presented by Messrs V>. Gregg and Co., Dunedin (Coffee Club Cup), and will bo awarded to tho teem making the highest aggregate score in the series. The United Service Match, which carries with it tho Dayson Shield and a cash prize of £2O, will he a competition between Territorials and rifle club men, of twenty a side. Otherwise there is no distinction between those two arms of the service in tho programme. There will ho an opjxwtunity for an extra match every day. on account of the ample target accommodation, which, with the new system of squadding projKised, will riot require tho constant attendance of competitors at the firing point, as heretofore. Consequent on the now arrangements made in connection with catering, it lias been decided by the Council that a catering fee of 15s per man will bo charged, and must he paid at tho time of entry. With the ample accommodation available. Colonel Collins is proposing a new system, of squadding, four men co a squad, and twenty-five squads to a section. lettered from “A ' onwards. Match barrels are prohibited. They were only allowed last year on account of so many Australian competitor.! being so armed, as an inducement for them to come. Aperture hack-sights will ho allowed as before. A competitor will have the option of converting his sighting-shot into a counting-shot. For the purpose of deciding ties, a centre of 12 inches at 500 and GOO yards and 21 inches at longer ranges will he marked on the target, counting five, marks in tho competition and six marks in tho shooting off. The usual concessions of fares on intercolonial and coastal steamers have been arranged, and free railway passes on the New Zealand Railways from the place of residence to Trentham and back will he issued.
