AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL. The entries for the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association's show, which will bo held to-day and to-mor-row, arc- the largest the Association has received. Tho creamery established at Blackkr's Corner, near Methvon, by the Ashhurton Dairy Company, L«i"tea» was opened on Monday, a conshfjrable quantity of milk being received.. The suppliers iiave been greatly handicapped by lack of cans. The company's five creameries are now working, and at Anama fully 40001 b of milk has been dealt with. In going over a large farm in the Kakahu district recently, writes the Winchester correspondent of the " Lyttelton Times/' I was shown that every paddock had a dam for tho supply oF water to the stock. The owner said that during the dry .seasons a fow year? ago these dams had never failed, whiie on his neighbours' lands many larger dams had quite dried up. The dams on his property were, on tho highest pares of the. paddocks, and they had been dug bv the previous owner of the farm, who held the view that the high part was tho best for such purposes.
